Take relaxation to the next level with these exercises.

Every Tuesday, 6:30 p.m. at YogaSole, Brooklyn, NY
75 minutes of intentional mind-body work using Yoga Tune Up® therapy balls and restorative yoga poses. Each weekly “rollout” is a collaboration, programmed to efficiently erase specific spots of tension requested by students. This is your class. To share your ideas for future focus areas, email jonathan@restorativeyoga.club.

We're devoting every Tuesday to a different YTU topic that will help you tame stress, take care of your tissues, tone your nervous system, terminate tension, teach body awareness and more.

The 5-minute quick fix can be used to prevent and/or treat the symptoms of modern-day living. All you need is a quiet, comfortable, piece of ground to lie down and possibly a blanket (for extra support or warmth).

Guided 20-minute savasana

The list of savasana's benefits is long, including helping relieve mild depression, high blood pressure, headaches, fatigue, and insomnia. Some even say the effects of 20 minutes of savasana are equal to two hours of sleep.

Forward folds relieve tension in the hips, thighs, and lower back. Their shape also provides an opportunity for introspection.

An inversion is a pose where the head is lower than the heart, and the heart is lower than the feet. Arranging your body this way is an instant relaxant, physically and mentally. It’s the reason they say “kick your feet up."

A good twist can release muscle tension from head to toe and acts as a stimulus package for our internal organs. Twisting poses can also wring emotional tension out of our bodies and help us handle change.

Relieving tension in your hands relaxes a big part of your brain. So the next time your hands are hollering, treat them (and your brain) to a massage.

Do your feet ever get achy? Do you work out? Are you on your feet all day? Do you wear shoes? If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, this massage is for you!
