The EssentiOILS: Bergamot

Hello friends,
As some of you already know, I needed the extra help of a prescription antidepressant for a few years. This summer, I realized it was no longer serving me, and under the guidance of my doctor, gradually reduced my dosage to zero. Every morning of this process, I also rubbed a few drops of Bergamot on the soles of my feet.
I’m filled with gratitude to report that I experienced no withdrawal symptoms. In fact, when the medicine was out of my system, I felt like Dorothy when she opened her eyes in Oz for the first time and saw the world in brilliant Technicolor. I continue this protocol today and would recommend it to anyone looking for a little perk-me-up in the morning.
Why Bergamot?

The powerful cleansing properties of Bergamot, the oil of self-acceptance, “generate movement in the energy system, which in turn brings hope... Bergamot teaches individuals to let go of self-judgment by learning to love themselves unconditionally.” (Source: Emotions & Essential Oils: A Reference Guide for Emotional Healing
Bergamot can be inhaled from the bottle, diffused or applied topically (1 - 3 drops diluted with a carrier oil). Remember, all citrus oils, including Bergamot, are photosensitive. When using a photosensitive essential oil topically, apply to the soles of your feet or avoid exposure to sunlight for up to 12 hours after use.

November's Detox-It-Yourself Project
I save many dollars and many hours (looking for safe and effective products, waiting in line, transporting them home) by replacing drugstore purchases with my monthly doTERRA Loyalty Rewards Program order.

This month, I detoxed my household cleaner by switching to doTERRA’s On Guard Cleaner Concentrate made with Wild Orange, Clove, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus, and Rosemary essential oils. A little goes a long way (2 tablespoons per 24 oz. of water), and I store it in a glass bottle to prevent plastic from leaching into the spray. It’s beginning to smell a lot like Christmas everywhere I clean.
